Le Cheile are continuing to make great progress retrofitting lights as part of the Public Lighting Energy Efficiency Project (PLEEP) – Southwest Region. Cork, Clare, Limerick, Kerry, and Waterford will see 61,000 public streetlights retrofitted across the counties. The pictures show retrofitted lights on Baltimore Pier, Cobh and Carrigaline in Cork. Also shown the first light retrofitted in Kerry which was on the 8th of July 2024.

Le Chéile Lighting Specialists, acting on behalf of Cork County Council as the Lead Authority on the Public Lighting Energy Efficiency Project, South West Region (PLEEP-SW), will be carrying out public lighting works at a number of locations across Limerick County.

LED Retrofit Works commencing: October 2024 in the Municipal District of Cappamore-Kilmallock and will progress through Adare-Rathkeale.

The project supported by the Road Management Office (RMO) in conjunction with various Local Authorities across Ireland, will see a number of regions countrywide retrofitted in stages with energy efficient LED street lights over the next year as part of the government’s drive to assist Local Authorities in reaching their energy efficiency targets by 2030.
The South West Region will see over 61,000 public street lights retrofitted across counties Cork, Clare, Limerick, Kerry and Waterford. Cork County Council is the lead Local Authority for South West Region.

Our works in the most part will present little or no disruption to the public or businesses within your area, and your power will not be interrupted. Some deployment of temporary traffic management may be required in areas of high traffic volume or narrow roads to facilitate safe access to streetlights for work crews. In rare instances, access to private premises or businesses may be affected where civil (excavation) works are necessary.

Le Chéile Lighting Specialists, acting on behalf of Cork County Council as the Lead Authority on the Public Lighting Energy Efficiency Project, South West Region (PLEEP-SW), will be carrying out public lighting works at a number of locations across Kerry County.

LED Retrofit Works commencing: July 2024 in the Municipal Districts of Tralee and Listowel, and will progress through Kenmare, Killarney, Castleisland – Corca Dhuibhne.

 

The project supported by the Road Management Office (RMO) in conjunction with various Local Authorities across Ireland, will see a number of regions countrywide retrofitted in stages with energy efficient LED street lights over the next year as part of the government’s drive to assist Local Authorities in reaching their energy efficiency targets by 2030.

LED Retrofit Works commencing: July 2024 in the Municipal District of Dungarvan-Lismore, and will progress through Comeragh and Waterford City.

The project supported by the Rood Management Office (RMO) in conjunction with various Local Authorities across Ireland, will see a number of regions countrywide retrofitted in stages with energy efficient LED street lights over the next year as port of the governmenrs drive to assist Local Authorities in reaching their energy efficiency targets by 2030. Surveying and retrofitting lights throughout Municipal Districts of Bandon/Kinsale, Carrigaline and East and West Cork

We at LeCheile are surveying and retrofitting lights throughout Municipal Districts of Bandon/Kinsale, Carrigaline and East and West Cork at present. Le Chéile is making great progress with the survey. In Cork (100%), Waterford (100%), Kerry (100%), Clare (68%) and Limerick (89%) have been surveyed so far.

We have retrofitted 5146 (19%) of lights throughout Cork. In the Municipal Districts of Bandon/Kinsale (72%), Carrigaline (33%), East Cork (19%), and West Cork (8%) have been retrofitted. We have received extremely positive feedback from residents in these areas regarding the new lighting.

We are committed to keeping the public informed of the progress. Our recent ads in the Corkman and The Avondhu outline the progress being made.

Le Cheile powering on with retrofitting new LED lights as part of the Public Lighting Energy Efficiency Project (PLEEP) in Dun Eoin Estate, Municipal District (MD) of Carrigaline. Survey crews have now completed the Municipal Districts of Waterford City & County Council and Kerry County Council. The final phase of surveying is currently being carried out in the MD’s of Limerick City and County Council and Clare County Council. Surveyed MD’s will then progress onto the retrofitting phase of new LED lights.

The IPAF provide licenses to our crew who are now trained to operate the MEWP safely.

Le Chéile have begun the retrofit and removal of the existing streetlights, these Lights will be replaced with energy efficient LED Streetlights in the Bandon/Kinsale Municipal District.
Traffic Management will be ongoing around local areas of Bandon/Kinsale to allow the safe removal and retrofit of the new LED streetlights.
